The French People say “Cherchez La Femme”, it means , “Look for the Woman”
The most significant event in human existence is the birth of a child. This so designed to perpetuate the existence of mankind on this earth. It is a function of the woman.
Some people say that behind every successful man there is a woman.
Look at the American Presidents , The two Bush Presidents, with very supportive women in their lives. Did those wives and the lasting support they infused into the Presidency help to make the successful Presidents.
Another one was The Reagan presidency. Again a woman who obviously supported a man who clearly depended on the support of a strong woman.
The President of the United States Of America who made history because he was so different in the eyes of some people, completed two historic terms in office. He was supported by an elegant, strong and supportive woman. He must be called PRESIDENT OBAMA.
But on the other side of the coin “Cherchez La Femme”. We can not fail to remember the story about a man called Samson. He was endowed from birth with unusual physical strength. He must have revealed his secret to a woman called Delilah. He became very weak and vulnerable. He suffered deception by a woman he trusted and finally he was defeated by his enemies. Delilah was paid to discover the secret of Samson’s strength. (Bible story ..Judges 13-16)
Another famous one in History was known as the Perfumo Scandal. A woman named Christine Keeler who had a relationship with a prominent British Government Minister. She was also suspected of being involved with a Russian officer. The British Government was thrown into chaos for many years and it may have led to the resignation of the Prime Minister.
In recent times in the Unites States Of America there have been scandals that resulted in the downfall or overthrow of many outstanding personalities.
Men and women in powerful positions, women to a lesser extent, seem to have a desire to control others. Some use force and other devious methods to accomplish their desires. There is often a vacuum somewhere in the lives of these people , either from childhood or in their domestic situation, or maybe a quest to acquire more, maybe wealth, maybe power, maybe control, which eventually leads to an addiction. Like other addictions, they seldom realize that they are where they are, and then they become empowered. They become entitled to take what ever they desire. Some become violent.
Is this behavior an illness ? Is it a departure from the standard of civilization which we have acquired through thousands of years of human progression.
Kings, Queens, Husbands, Wives, fathers, Mothers, Presidents and Politicians, Preachers and Pastors, Sports men and Players, Some where among us emerges a person who will be abusive in some way.
Fortunately for our world, we are not all that way. These traits have been with us through the history of Mankind. In the past it was glossed over in high places and not always accepted by all people in our society.
Today we have advanced to a place where people are more open and protected by Laws. So there is more exposure.
Hopefully, women through their demeanor can deserve and demand the respect they deserve.
Likewise, we the people may be advised to start by respecting women and avoid doing and saying repulsive things.
OUR PLACE IN CIVILIZATION DEMANDS MORE.
